Therapy & Support Programs

SMRC offers tailored support services aimed at fostering the positive development of PwIDs. These services encompass a range of therapies such as physiotherapy and speech therapy, as well as psycho-social support including sexual education awareness and protection from abuse and violence. Furthermore, SMRC provides diverse educational and recreational opportunities such as art, music, sports, drama, acrobatics, yoga and traditional dancing (Dabkeh).

Vocational Training Program

It aims to enable PwIDs to access their right to vocational training and employment in the Palestinian labor market. It provides educational, rehabilitation, vocational training, and employment services to PwIDs from the age of 14 to 40 years old.  It helps the PwIDs to become independent, self-reliant, included in their local communities, and to live in dignity. PwIDs are trained in vocational skills that include farming, food production, packaging, olive soap and candle production, embroidery, sewing, housekeeping, and hospitality.

School Education Program

This School provides educational and rehabilitation services to children with intellectual disabilities from the age of 6 to 14. It aims to develop their academic, cognitive, behavioral, language, self-reliance, physical, and social skills, as well as general safety to become more independent and self-reliant. The capacity of this Program is 35 children. Salwa one of the school teachers says: “My sense of belonging to Star Mountain Rehabilitation Center grew a lot during my work. I love working with my children here as they constitute a part of my heart”
